As a matter of History. When 15 Sqn RAF Regt. marched off the parade square at RAF Luqa. Malta in 1971 at the end of the Dom Mintoff troubles, we sang "The Yellow Ribbon". We formed up by Flights on the parade square and then marched past a high ranking RAF officer who took the salute from the dais. We were armed, dressed in combats and marched straight out to the Hercs waiting to take us back to RAF Wittering.

She wore, she wore, she wore a yellow ribbon
She wore a yellow ribbon in the merry month of May
And if you ask her why the hell she wore it
She wore it for that Rockape who was far far away

(chorus)
Far away (blind drunk)
Far away (blind drunk)
She wore it for that Rockape who was far far away

And in the spring she had a bouncing baby
She had a bouncing baby in early February
And if you asked her why the hell she bore it
She bore it for that rockape who was far, far away
Not far enough. Not far enough..
(chorus)

Around the town she pushed a perambulator
She pushed it in the springtime in the very month of May
And if you ask her why the hell she pushes it
She pushes it for that Rockape who is far far away.
Not far enough. Not far enough..
(
chorus)

Behind the door her father keeps a shotgun
And he checks its loaded every single day
And if you ask him why the the hell he keeps it
He'll tell its for that Rockape who is far far away
Not far enough. Not far enough..
(chorus)
